LSU Shreveport Director to Lead EPA Workshop

LSU Shreveport Director of the Red River Watershed Management Institute Gary Hanson will lead a workshop at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Hydraulic Fracturing Study Water Resource Management Workshop in Arlington Va. March 29-30, 2011.

Hanson will discuss topics within the theme of water use and sustainability. Hanson has studied determinations of appropriate water sources, as well as quantities used for hydraulic fracturing and how communities share water sources.

Hanson will be joined by leaders from ConocoPhillips, Idaho National Laboratory, Devon Energy Corporation, the University of Texas at Austin, Research Triangle Energy Consortium, Louisiana Office of Conservation and Geo Logic Environmental Services, LLC.
