LSU Shreveport Announces Guaranteed Scholarships

For the first time in LSU Shreveport's history, the University will be guaranteeing scholarships to first-time, full-time freshmen students at LSUS. Students meeting specific criteria will be guaranteed a scholarship in the fall of 2012."In today's competitive environment, scholarship support is critical to attracting and retaining the best and brightest students. We are pleased to be able to offer this scholarship guarantee program to reward these high ability students for their hard work and great achievements," said Mickey Diez Dean of Enrollment Services and Registrar.
Students may qualify for the following three options:
Louisiana Scholarship
Award: Full tuition and fees plus book allowance per semester
Criteria: 30 ACT and minimum 3.5 high school GPA (unweighted)
Red River Scholarship
Award: $1,800 per semester
Criteria: 26 ACT and minimum 3.0 high school GPA (unweighted)
Shreveport Scholarship
Award: $1,500 per semester
Criteria: 24 ACT and 3.0 high school (unweighted)
In addition to these guaranteed academic scholarships, LSUS will continue to award competitive scholarships to high school seniors who do not meet the criteria listed above and scholarships for community college graduates and transfer students.
More details will be given to high school juniors and seniors who attend Pilot Preview Day on Saturday, November 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the LSU Shreveport campus. Pilot Preview Day will include a campus tour and numerous opportunities to learn about academic programs, financial aid, student life and athletics.
