LSU Shreveport Anglers Take Second Place at National Fishing Championship
April 11, 2011

LSU Shreveport Bass Club President Joe Landry and LSUS alumni Zach Caudle placed second in the 2011 National Guard FLW College Fishing National Championship on Kentucky/Barkley lakes this past weekend. Landry and Caudle took home $20,000 in prize money.
The LSUS team had a three day total of 13 bass weighing in at 37.02 pounds. Caudle and Landry had double-digit weight totals all three days.
"Overall I'm satisfied. We fished hard, we're very consistent, we didn't lose a fish all week and we finished in second place every day," said Landry. "I just wish we had a chance to compete against these guys more often."
Caudle described the weekend: "We just had a great time out there. It's an experience I'll never forget."
The University of Florida won for the second year in a row with 41.08 pounds as a three day total. FLW Outdoors has awarded over $2 million in scholarship money to over 100 colleges and universities. College Fishing events are free to enter, boats and drivers are provided by FLW Outdoors and all collegiate teams receive a travel allowance.
