LSU Shreveport and LBRN Host Computational Biology Workshop
March 09, 2012LSU Shreveport and the Louisiana Biomedical Research Network (LBRN) will host the 5th Computational Biology Workshop. The one-day event will take place Friday, March 23, 2012 in the University Center, Caddo-Bossier Room on the LSU Shreveport campus. All researchers, faculty, graduate and undergraduate students are invited to attend this workshop.
The workshop will begin with a keynote address from Professor Jessica Kissinger, Director of the Institute for Bioinformatics at the University of Georgia. Additional topics will include computational dimensions of NIH R15 (PUI-oriented) and broader grant proposals; bioinformatic applications of MATLAB and broader analytic tools (both supported by BBCore); and a panel on present and future LBRN PI applications of bioinformatics, biostatistics, and computational biology tools.
