LSU Shreveport “Authors in April” Benefit Announced

LSU Shreveport's annual Authors in April event to benefit the Pioneer Heritage Center at LSU Shreveport will be held April 16, 2011 at noon at the Sam's Town Casino and Hotel. Charlotte Hays will be the honored author at the event.


Hays is a native of Greenville, Miss. and a graduate of Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn. She is the coauthor of three books with Gayden Metcalfe on life in the Mississippi Delta. She is also the author of "Fortune Hunters: Dazzling Women and the Men They Married." Hays was a gossip columnist for the Washington Times, the New York Observer, and the New York Daily News. She has edited two magazines, "The Women's Quarterly," which was published by the Independent Women's Forum in Washington, D.C., and "In Character," published by the John Templeton Foundation. She has been a feature writer at the Washington Times and has been published in New York Magazine, New Republic, Weekly Standard, National Review, and Town & Country. She is now a senior fellow at the Independent Women's Forum in Washington, D.C.
