LSU Shreveport’s Center for Business and Economic Research to host 2012 Economic Outlook Conference

The Center for Business and Economic Research at LSU Shreveport will host the 2012 Economic Outlook Conference on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the LSUS University Center. The conference begins at 7:30 a.m. with a networking breakfast.
The guest speaker for this year's event is John Maginnis, an independent journalist who has been writing about Louisiana politics since 1972 and publishes the LaPolitics Weekly, an email newsletter. Mr. Maginnis also writes a weekly syndicated column that appears in 16 daily and weekly newspapers around the state. He is the author of two books on Louisiana politics: "The Last Hayride" (1984) and "Cross to Bear" (1992). In 2000, the Baton Rouge native was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the LSU Manship School of Communications. He is currently working on a project to encourage first-time candidates to run for office, with the launch of his website www.Howtogetelected.com.
