Kappa Delta Pi inducts new members

April 23, 2013

The LSU Shreveport Pi Zeta Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi inducted twelve members on April 16, 2013. The new members are Emily Bartlett, Shannon Clemons, Gina Ditcharo, Gretchen Edwards-Page, Julia Henry, Julie Inman, Megan Inman, Caitlyn Maddox, Katherine Rockett, Crissy Shaw, Collyn Tuttle, and Christianne Wojcik.

Membership is extended based on scholarly achievement, commitment to excellence, and dedication and passion for a career in education. Undergraduate juniors and seniors, alternate certification candidates, and graduate students must be nominated by the Department of Education faculty.

Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society in Education, founded in 1911 at the University of Illinois, was established to foster excellence in education and promote fellowship among those dedicated to teaching. The founders chose the name from the Greek words to represent knowledge, duty, and power. Pioneering from its beginning by including women as well as men, Kappa Delta Pi grew from a local chapter to the international organization it is today, comprising 582 chapters and more than 45,000 members.
