Hurricanes and Tornadoes Dominate Research Forum at LSUS

The first annual Student Scholars Forum was held at the LSU Shreveport campus on Friday, February 19. The program included 73 presentations by students from seven regional campuses in Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, and Mississippi, representing Science and Mathematics, Arts and Humanities, Business, Education, and Social Sciences. Judges awarded $50 prizes to the top presenters in each of four categories.  At the undergraduate level, the top poster presentations were awarded to Stephen Kreller (UL Monroe) and Anthony Blankenship (LSU Shreveport), while the top paper presentations were awarded to  Elisa Murillo (UL Monroe) and Ryan Grant (LSU Shreveport). The top graduate poster presentations went to Elizabeth Cockerham (LSU Shreveport) and Dustin McCallum (McNeese State). The top graduate paper presentations were awarded to Dylan Crowell (UL Monroe) and Hien T. Nguyen (McNeese State). Funding for the research forum was provided by the Noel Foundation.
