Green Zone Training

Green Zone Training is a new program being implemented by LSUS Student Development as part of our commitment to diversity & inclusion.

“The premise of the Green Zone program is that knowledgeable and supportive contacts throughout the institution will create a more veteran-friendly environment, which in turn will have a positive effect on the success of […] military students.”

The seminar is 3 hours long, and includes definitions, common issues military and military-affiliated students experience, and will also include a student panel of veterans & military members.

What will you learn in Green Zone Training?
• An overview of the military experience and its impact.
• An introduction to the potential challenges and issues facing undergraduate and graduate military-connected students at LSUS, including active duty, reservists, and veterans, as well as spouses and adult children of military members.
• An exposure to the many resources available to military-connected students on campus, in the community, and beyond.
• How to better become a “military friendly” faculty/staff member and/or department/office.

Light snacks and refreshments provided.
Training manuals provided.
