Four LSU Shreveport Students Selected for Next Generation Leaders Program

November 23, 2010
Three LSU Shreveport undergraduate students and one graduate student were selected by the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance into the Next Generation Nonprofit Leaders Program. The undergraduate students are: Quantina Young, Kamesha West and Kendra N. Williams. Jena Sharpton is a student in the Master of Science in Human Services Administration program.

The NextGen program awards students $4,500 to allow them to complete their internships and certification. All students selected agree to complete the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance certification process and to participate in a voluntary program evaluation as well as a multi-year longitudinal research study.

The four LSUS students were chosen from more than 120 students at 36 affiliated colleges and universities. Previous recipients from LSUS include Shawnta Jones in 2008 and Natalie Hunsicker in 2009.

The Next Generation Nonprofit Leaders Program is an initiative funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation at the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance, formally known as American Humanics.
