Fall Commencement Scheduled for December 18

The LSU Shreveport Fall Commencement ceremony will be held Sunday, December 18, 2011 at 2 p.m. at CenturyLink Center in Bossier City, La. The commencement address will be given by Ronnie L. Bryant, CEcD, FM, a 1991 alumnus and current president and CEO of Charlotte Regional Partnership.
After graduating from LSUS, Bryant went to the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, where he is currently the dean and a member of the Executive Board. At Charlotte Regional Partnership he is responsible for promoting the 16-county Charlotte region as a premier location for businesses. Bryant also currently serves as a governor's appointee to the North Carolina Economic Development Board and is a board member of CoreNet Global's Carolinas Chapter. Charlotte's city magazine named Bryant Number 30 on its list of Charlotte's Fifty Most Powerful.
Prior to joining Charlotte partnership, Bryant was president and CEO of the Pittsburgh Regional Alliance where he marketed the region and collaborated with regional economic development agencies to develop and implement job creation strategies. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette ranked him number 25 on its list of top 50 business leaders.
In 2007 he received one of the LSUS Alumni Association's inaugural Circle of Excellence awards.
