Drew Brees Coming to Shreveport on May 22nd for Football N America at LSUS

May 14, 2019

SHREVEPORT, LA- Football N America (FNA), a non-contact youth co-ed flag football league for grades K-10, co-founded by New Orleans Saints Quarterback Drew Brees, kicked off in Shreveport in early April.  Brees, the veteran quarterback of the New Orleans Saints, will make his way to Shreveport on May 22nd to meet and greet the kids of FNA on the campus of LSU Shreveport. In addition to photo ops for the kids there will be a 20-minute Q&A session.

Hundreds of kids compete every Saturday as part of Football N America in multiple states, playing the game under the organization’s mission of providing a competitive, safe and fun atmosphere for kids and parents to enjoy flag football. The meet and greet with Brees is a private event for current FNA Players only, but parents can still register their children by May 20th to ensure access to this unique opportunity. Interested parents can visit and click on the Shreveport league under cities. Fall leagues will begin in September and again be played at LSUS.

“The overwhelming support that we have experienced from our sponsors and partners has been amazing. From the beginning, the LSUS Foundation supported our vision and stepped up and invited us to play there. Music Mountain, our official water company and a huge partner, is out here every week supplying free water to the kids and giving back to the community,” said Brandon Beard, commissioner of FNA Shreveport. “Our other sponsors- Barksdale Federal Credit Union, Carter Federal, Raising Canes, Walk-Ons, Christus Velocity Care and Pyromania Fireworks, have been incredible as well. Having Drew Brees show up and visit with our players and parents is a chance of a lifetime. It is not very often that one of the greatest Quarterbacks ever goes out of his way to come show support for our community.”

Beard also reiterated that kids have to be registered to play flag football by May 20th to be eligible to meet Brees on May 22nd at 3:30 pm in the LSUS Auditorium. Immediate family members of registered players are also welcome at the event, and once registered, parents will receive confirmation via email. “There are plenty of sports leagues out there and even some new Flag Football programs, but nothing that even comes close to the quality and experience that we offer our competitors.”
