Dr. Michael Chikeleze named Interim Chair for the Leadership Department

LSUS is pleased to announce Dr. Michael Chikeleze as the Interim Chair for the newly created Leadership Department. The department is a part of the School of Human Sciences and houses the Doctorate in Leadership Studies program.

Dr. Michael Chikeleze has spent the past 12 years in higher education academic positions, currently serving as Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Leadership Studies in the College of Business, Education and Human Development at Louisiana State University Shreveport. He is also the current President of the LSUS faculty senate. Prior to his new appointment, he was an Associate Professor in the Department of Education and has been at LSUS since 2015. Before joining LSUS, Dr. Chikeleze held several academic positions at Cincinnati State College in Ohio, including campus director, associate dean for business, and was part of the business law faculty. He began his academic career as an associate director of corporate relations at Lindner College of Business at the University of Cincinnati.

Prior to joining academia, Michael had a career in business management, spending 10 years in corporations such as Fortune 50 Procter & Gamble and J.P. Morgan Chase & Company, holding leadership positions of tax counsel, finance manager, real estate analyst and account executive. Michael holds a Ph.D. in values-driven leadership from Benedictine University in Lisle, IL and M.B.A. and J.D. degrees from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. His research interests include business ethics, ethical leadership and leadership education.
