Chad McDowell Named Louisiana Small College Coach of the Year

LSU Shreveport Men's Basketball Coach Chad McDowell has been selected by the Louisiana Association of Basketball Coaches (LABC) as the recipient of the Louisiana Small College Coach of the Year for 2011.
This will be McDowell's seventh time to win the award. Since accepting the Head Men's Basketball Coaching position in 2003, McDowell and the Pilots have posted an overall record of 212-58. McDowell led the Pilots to reach a number one ranking this season and the second round of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Tournament. Under McDowell, the Pilots have had eight national tournament appearances and won the conference tournament championship for six consecutive seasons.
The award will be presented to McDowell at the LABC's 37th Annual Awards Banquet on Saturday, May 7, 2011 in Baton Rouge, La. The winner is selected annually by the men's college basketball coaches in the State of Louisiana.
Last week, McDowell was awarded the 2011 Coach of Character Award by the NAIA.
