Ballengee to Speak at LSU Shreveport Spring Commencement on May 22

LSU Shreveport Spring Commencement ceremonies will be held Sunday, May 22, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at CenturyTel Center in Bossier City, La. The featured speaker will be James Ballengee '87, who will be honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award of 2011.
Ballengee received the LSUS Alumni Circle of Excellence Award in 2007 and has been an LSUS Foundation member since 2005. He is also a former LSUS Alumni Association board member and has contributed significantly to LSUS Athletics. Ballengee is currently operates several energy related businesses in the Shreveport area.
The Distinguished Alumni is given annually to alumni leaders in the community, region or nation who are using their LSUS degrees in a significant manner and have made a significant contribution to the university.
