Shreveport, La. - The No. 7 Texas Wesleyan Rams escaped with a 71-67 victory over the LSUS Pilots on Tuesday afternoon, scoring four unanswered points over the final 26 seconds to pick up the win.

LSUS senior Clarke Jackson tied the game at 67 after a steal and a made free throw with 26 seconds remaining in the contest, but Wesleyan's Willie Sweat managed to sneak behind the LSUS defense for what would eventually be the game-winning basket with 13 seconds left.  Sweat then forced an LSUS turnover and converted it into a layup with one second on the clock, giving the Rams a four-point road win.

For the second time in as many meetings, the Pilots held the advantage in the scoring column for the majority of the contest.  However, on both occassions, the Rams were able to fight their way back into each contest and pull out the victory in the final seconds.

TWU's Chris Berry, the nation's ninth leading scorer, finished with a game-high 22 points in the win.

LSUS placed three players in double figures with Jackson leading the way with 18 points, but the Rams held LSUS' leading scorer Tyrone Hamilton to just six points for the game.  Jared Stevenson added 16 points for the Pilots, while John Anthony Anglin scored 14 from off the bench.

LSUS (6-5) will be back in action next Monday when they travel to Hawkins, Texas, to face the Jarvis Christian Bulldogs.
