Watershed research park largest of its kind in nation
It's under water much of the winter and spring, but that's exactly what the 540-acre C. Bickham Dickson Park is supposed to be. According to Gary Hanson, assistant professor of environmental science and director of the LSUS Red River Watershed Management Institute, the area is a "wetlands, and it's supposed to flood."

Hibernia / LSUS Pilots Golf Classic
Jennifer Prudhomme, accounting supervisor, and her Harrah's Casino teammates, give her putt all the help they can at the Alumni Association fundraiser golf tournament for the LSUS Pilots baseball team. Watching the line of the putt are (from rear) Geoff Andres, vice president of casino operations; Jay Nelson, manager of direct mail, and Maurice McMillan, executive pastry chef. A full field of 144 golfers registered for the tournament, held May 3 at Olde Oaks Golf Club in Bossier City. Honorary Tournament Director Jim McCrery, Louisiana's 4th District U.S. Representative, said the tournament was the best ever in all respects. Weather threatened to keep the event inside the clubhouse, but rain held off until the tournament staff was leaving the golf course parking lot. Next year's tourney is already being planned.

SPRING FLING SPELLS FUN
A variety of activities awaited students - and some smaller family members - at Spring Fling. The "Battle of the Bands" had spectators jumping, but not as high as sophomore business major Ryan Ware (upper left), guitar player with Down Tribe. Scaling the U.S. Army's wall are Michael Wright (left), a sophomore computer science major, and Marcus Punch, an LSUS physical plant employee. Some people can eat crawfish all day, but 4-year-old Emily Hughes wants no part of hers. Keeping their hands on the mudbugs, however, are dad, Tim, and mom, Barbara, a junior accounting major.

SGA PROFESSOR OF THE YEAR...AGAIN
