Norma Jean Paris (B.A. '75, S.S.P. '85) was
named Louisiana's School Psychologist of the Year
for 2001 by the Louisiana School Psychological Association.

Tony Benten (B.S. '85) was promoted to treasurer
of the New York Times Company. He joined the company
in 1989 after receiving his MBA from Rice University.

Susan
(Smith) Bressler (B.S. '91) recently completed
her Master of Science degree in organizational management
at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Married
in March 2001, she was recently named as director
of communications & external relations at Pacific
Lutheran University in Tacoma, Wash.

Jackie
Day-Whaley
(B.A. '91) was recently named development manager
for Junior Achievement
of North Louisiana. The Shreveport native majored
in public relations and minored in journalism. While
at LSUS, she was a member of Phi Mu and is an active
member of the sorority's Shreveport alumni chapter.
After graduation, she worked in sales at KTAL-TV
(Channel 6 in Shreveport) for eight years. In 1999,
she was the television station's top biller with
more than $1 million. Before assuming her post at
Junior Achievement, she was public relations manager
at Hollywood Casino. She is a past president of
the Shreveport Jaycees and has been an active board
member of the Shreveport-Bossier Advertising Federation,
currently serving as president. She and her husband,
Andy Whaley, were married in 1997, and are the parents
of two children Victoria, 3, and Drew, 2.

K. Trusty Jr. (B.A.
'99) was named marketing specialist at Sci-Port
Discovery
Center in Shreveport in late January. Prior to assuming
the post at Sci-Port, Trusty was sports editor of
the Minden Press-Herald. While attending LSUS, he
worked in the Sports Department at The (Shreveport)
Times, and served in several positions at the Alamgest.
After graduating, the Shreveport native was a telemarketing
supervisor and telemarketing manager at The Times.
