India Winners
Monica Kumar, a May Caddo Magnet High School graduate, and Matthew Brandeburg, a Caddo Magnet sophomore, stand with Dr. Sanjay Menon, assistant professor of management and holder of the LSUS India Studies Professorship, at a meeting of the India Association. Kumar and Brandeburg won first and second places respectively in the India Studies Essay Contest. The students wrote on the topic, “Comparing Democracy in the U.S. and India: Two-Party vs. Multi-Party Democracy.” The 1,000-word essay competition was open to all high school students in Caddo Parish. Kumar received $150 and Brandeburg received $100. |
