‘Way Out There…’

Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson points to a Solar System display on the ceiling at a presentation for Caddo and Bossier science students and teachers in the IMax theater at Sci-Port Discovery Center. Tyson, a noted astrophysicist and author, is director of the Hayden Planetarium in New York City. He was in Shreveport as part of the Space Shots Lecture Series hosted by the LSUS College of Sciences through the support of AEP SWEPCO, the Shreveport-Bossier Community Foundation Kinsey Family Fund, the George Khoury Foundation and Bobbie Hicks. Dr. Laura Whitlock (seated at far left), an LSUS assistant professor of physics and former NASA astrophysicist, coordinates the Space Shots Lecture Series.
