Mary Anne and Leonard Selber, who were named Pilots of the Year at the annual LSUS RiverBend Revue black-tie gala held at the Horseshoe Riverdome on Sept. 7, express their delight at being surprised with an LSUS professorship in their names. The new professorship was funded with private donations of more than $60,000 from the Selbers’ friends and family and will be submitted for state matching funds next spring, The professorship announcement was the surprise ending to a spectacular night of good food, great fellowship and grand fun, including a Marilyn Joiner-written skit performed by local veteran actors Susan and Patrick Kirton with real-life commentary from a number of the Selbers’ family and friends. RiverBend Revue is the LSUS Foundation’s only annual fundraising event. It accounted for more than $100,000 in donations to LSUS.
