Band
jazzes up university campus
(Page 1)
They’re sounds you may not have heard at LSUS
before…those coming from the sax, trumpet and
trombone. They, along with the sounds from the rhythm
section, come from the newly formed LSUS Jazz Band.
While you may be excited about getting to hear the group
perform, band members are just as excited to play for
you. That’s because they’re also earning
school credit and money for college while they jazz
it up.
East
Texas alum shares many talents with LSUS
(Page 1)
Turn your radio dial to 89.9 in Shreveport and you’ll
hear KDAQ, just one of the many stations that make up
the Red River Radio network. According to its Web site,
the network’s mission is to extend to the citizens
of the broadcast area the broad purposes of the university
by offering quality programming which is entertaining,
informative, and edifying. Sounds like a big job, and
it is. It’s a job that wouldn’t get done
without people like Steve Howell.

3 national ranking into the 2004 season. At season’s
end, however, a 3-1 loss in the Gulf Coast Athletic
Conference championship game left the Pilots with a
37-25 overall record and a long summer and autumn to
reflect and figure out the adjustments necessary to
bring a repeat of past glories in the 2005 season.
