Opportunities
abound
for university support
No
public university can prosper and meet its full potential
solely on the income generated from tuition and tax
dollars. Through the LSUS Foundation and the LSUS Alumni
Association, friends of the university have a number
of opportunities to provide the additional support that
is so vital to our school’s health and well-being.
This
issue of LSUS News highlights several of those opportunities,
as well as a new way our Office of Development has created
to recognize the outstanding support we receive both
in monetary contributions and in precious time donated.
This year the LSUS Alumni Association is spearheading
the Annual Fund Campaign
and is conducting the appeal through LSUS News. On
Page 7, the deans of our academic colleges give
you a summary of their programs and suggest ways you
can help them fulfill their missions. There is also
a convenient postage-paid return envelope attached to
that page. I urge you to support LSUS by joining the
Alumni Association and making a contribution to LSUS

The Wall of Honor featured on Page
6 and in the photograph to the right of this column
is located on the second floor of the Administration
Building on the wall across from the Office of Development.
The Wall recognizes such outstanding contributions to
the university as heading the LSUS Foundation, endowing
an academic chair or professorship, funding scholarships
and membership in the Foundation. I invite you to stop
by the Administration Building to peruse this most impressive
display of recognition for those who support LSUS.
