College of Liberal Arts

Because of you, good things keep happening in the College of Liberal Arts. Some of the teachers you remember are creating exciting new opportunities for students. Some of the programs you remember are growing in ways we couldn’t have imagined just a few years ago.

Dr. Megan Conway was appointed the first Sybil T. and J. Frederick Professor of Excellence in Teaching in the College of Liberal Arts, and Dr. Dorie LaRue became the college’s first designated Writer in Residence.

The LSUS Institute for Human Services and Public Policy will conduct a series of three nonprofit administration seminars between Oct. 14 and March 24, 2005, in each of five rural Northwest Louisiana parishes.

The LSUS Debate Team led by Mary (Jorji) Jarzabek continues to sweep honors and garner awards at multiple tournaments throughout the region.

And just in: English and MLA alumna Christianne Wojick, now a Ph.D. student in Lafayette, will deliver a paper based on her MLA thesis at the Victorian Studies Association Conference in February in Auckland, New Zealand!

For our new “face,” see the college Web site at www.lsus.edu/la/. All of these programs and many more that you remember in the College of Liberal Arts depend on visionary supporters and alumni who want the best for their college. That’s why I’m asking you once again to consider making a gift to the College Scholarship Fund or to the LSUS Foundation that supports so many of the college activities. With your help, good things will keep on happening.
