Soprano Erika Wueschner and pianist Spencer Myer collaborate on a selection at a free mini concert in the LSUS Science Lecture Auditorium sponsored by the Piatigorsky Foundation. The artists were warmly received by the campus audience as they sang and played a variety of operatic and Broadway selections. The Piatigorsky Foundation’s mission is to make live classical music part of the fabric of everyday life for communities throughout the U.S. The foundation’s concert tours bring top-quality musicians to audiences who would otherwise not have the opportunity to hear such performances. Dr. La Wanda Blakeney, assistant professor of music, said the next Piatigorsky concert at LSUS is tentatively scheduled for Common Hour (10:30 to 11:15 a.m.) Tuesday, Feb. 22.
