Eagle
has Landed
Winners of the fifth Inte-grative Business Case
Competition in the College of Business Ad-ministration
are the team of (from left) Sharon Courtney
Carson, Kim Holder, Dixon Doege, Kate Chaney,
Chase Beasley and Susan Croft. Every graduating
senior in the college took part in the event
on one of seven teams. Working in teams of six,
they presented their proposals for Eagle Food
Centers, a regional grocery store chain. The
teams played the roles of consulting firms respond-ing
to a request for proposal from Eagle’s
Board of Directors. The initial request included
a packet of information about the firm and asked
the teams to develop a strategic plan for the
firm and recommendations about how to implement
that plan. In addition to a comprehensive written
proposal, each team made a 20-minute pre-sentation
of their plan to the board (volunteer fac-ulty
from the college), followed
by 10 minutes in which the board could ask questions
about the plan.
