Celebrating
NCATE Exhaustion
Faculty and staff in the College of Education and Human
Development “celebrate” the completion of
the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education
(NCATE) accreditation visit to the LSUS campus. Although
the final decision won’t be made until fall, the
college staff is confident it passed. (Above) A weary
staff “crashes” at the victory celebration.
Crashees are (from left) Dr. Pat Doerr, associate vice
chancellor for academic affairs and dean of Graduate
Studies; Dr. Dave Gustavson, now dean of the college;
Dr. Tim Winter, chair of the Department of Kinesiology
and Health Science; Melissa Mainiero, who coordinated
the preparations for the NCATE review; Dr. Cay Evans,
professor of education; Dr. Martha Mangin, professor
of education, and Dr. Gale Bridger, then dean of the
College of Education and Human Development. (Left) Bridger
was crowned Ms. NCATE 2004 by the college’s faculty
and staff.
