Downloadable Ethics

Jonathan Whitehead (right), Recording Industry Association of America vice president and anti-piracy counsel, Internet and new media, makes his point with (from left) Dr. Norm Dolch, professor of sociology and director of the LSUS Institute for Human Services and Public Policy; Amanda Joy Bell, events coordinator for the Institute, and Dr. Helen Taylor, professor of English and a member of the LSUS Ethics Conference steering committee. Whitehead and Shreveport recording executive Stan Lewis discussed the ethics of downloading music from the Internet in one of the conference programs. The conference, coordinated by the Institute, featured eight programs over a three-week period. Among the events were a debate tournament and an essay contest.
