First Deans’ Award

Dr. Donna Austin, associate professor in management and director of the Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology, holds the plaque she received after being named the first recipient of the Deans’ Award. Deans gathered with Austin are (from left) Dr. Al Vekovius, College of Sciences; Dr. Charlotte Jones, College of Business Administration; Dr. Severn Doughty, Division of Continuing Education; Dr. Merrell Knighten, College of Liberal Arts, and Dr. Gale Bridger, College of Education and Human Development. The deans cited Austin for her service to the university that “clearly stretches past the obligations of duty, past even the aspiration to excellence that characterizes so many here, to a level of involvement, attainment and recognized service to the many disparate individuals and groups of our community of scholarship and learning.”
