Time Capsule

We are thrilled and honored to have had the privilege of opening the contents of the LSUS time capsule from 1992. The historian is always excited to see glimpses of the past, and these contents did not disappoint! We believe that the campus community is going to be excited to see these memories, in photographs, cassettes, and even old floppy disk drives. The community here 25 years ago wanted us to experience their lives at LSUS, and left us some interesting ways to remember them. You will not want to miss the opening of this exhibit on campus on September 18 at 11:00 a.m.!

Looking Forward

We want you to be part of LSUS's future. Be a part of the LSUS Time Capsule Project. By donating your past, we can see where we were when we open the LSUS time capsule in 25 years at our 75th anniversary celebration.

We will be collecting artifacts for the capsule from August 2017 to August 2018. Artifacts selected will be placed in the capsule, the unit will be sealed, placed in our archives, and not opened again until the year 2043. What are we looking for?

    1. LSUS Memorabilia - All years from 1967 to 2017/18
    2. Pop Culture - Current fashions, trends, fads, music, TV, movies
    3. Major News - What's going on in our city, parish, state, nation, world
    4. Your Story - Tell us about your LSUS experience
    5. Photographs - Past and present photos of LSUS and our city

Feel free to add other items you feel are relevant to LSUS and our lives and times. You may submit your pictures/comments to be included in the Time Capsule to the LSUS media email at

All artifacts/items submitted WILL NOT be returned and there is not guarantee that all items submitted will be placed in the time capsule.
