Creating
and accessing accounts
Library Catalog
(find
books)
- LSUS faculty,
staff, currently enrolled students, and library courtesy patrons
automatically have accounts for viewing their checkouts, due dates,
and late fees; and for renewing materials or placing holds on materials
checked out to other borrowers.
- No user
ID or PIN is required to search the catalog; you will only
be prompted for a user ID and PIN if you go to "My Account."
- Your
user ID is your LSUS ID. Your PIN number is
the month and day of your birth, in MMDD format. For example, if you were born on January 5th, your PIN number is
0105.
- To view your
account, go to the online
catalog, and click on "My Account." Log on with your
LSUS ID and PIN.
- If you are having
difficulty logging on to "My Account," call the Library
Circulation Desk at 797-5225 to verify that your account information
is correct.
Indexes
(find articles)
- Your
user ID/PIN for the indexes is the same
as for the library catalog mentioned above.
- No user
ID or PIN is required if you access the indexes from on campus.
You will only be prompted for a user ID and PIN if you are attempting
to search from a remote computer.
- Please
note that remote access to the indexes is only available
for current LSUS faculty, staff, and students. Others
may access the indexes on campus only.
- If you are having
difficulty logging on to the indexes, call the Library
Circulation Desk at 797-5225 to verify that your account information
is correct.
- For assistance
with searching the indexes, call the Reference Desk at
797-5068.
Electronic Books
- To "check
out" electronic books found
through the library catalog, follow the steps to create an account
on the NetLibrary main page.
- You
must create an account for NetLibrary from a computer on campus. Once
you have created an account, you can access the account to view
or check out books from a remote computer.
- You may choose
any user name and password that you like for your NetLibrary account;
be sure to write it down and keep it in a safe and private location.
- If you forget
your user name or password for your NetLibrary account, go directly
to NetLibrary and follow the instructions
there. The LSUS library does not have access to account information
created through NetLibrary.
Interlibrary Loan
- To use ILLiad,
the library's software for submitting interlibrary loan requests
online and for tracking those requests, you must first create an
account following the steps on the ILLiad page.
- Please note
that interlibrary loan privileges are extended to current LSUS
faculty, staff, retirees and students only. If you are not
eligible based upon status, check with your local public library
to request
interlibrary loans.
- When you create
your ILLiad account,
you may choose any user name and password that you like; be sure
to write it down and keep it in a safe and private location.
- If you forget
your user name or password for ILLiad, call the Library Circulation
Desk at 797-5225, or send an email to libill@pilot.lsus.edu to
confirm your user name or to have your password reset.
Blackboard
- Your Blackboard account
is automatically set up by the Department of Computing Services.
If your instructor is using Blackboard for a particular course,
your name will automatically be linked to that course.
- Your user ID
is your last name, first initial, and the last four digits of your
student ID number. The password will be your student ID number.
For example, John Doe with a student ID of 123-12-1234 would have
a user ID of DOEJ1234 and a password of 123121234.
- If you are having
difficulty logging in to Blackboard, call 797-5171, or send an
email to blackboard@pilot.lsus.edu
Student
Web Services
- Your user ID
for Student Web Services is
your LSUS ID. Your PIN is set initially to the numeric month
and date of your birth, in MMDD format. For instance, if your birthday
is
March 7th, your PIN is 0307.
- If you are having
difficulty logging in to Student Web Services, call 797-5171, or
send an email to webmaster@pilot.lsus.edu
Student
Email Accounts
- The University
automatically generates email accounts
for currently enrolled students.
- Your user ID
is your last name, first initial, and the last four digits of your
student ID number. The password will be your student ID number.
For example, John Doe with a student ID of 123-12-1234 would have
a login name of DOEJ1234 and a password of 123121234.
- Your email address
is your user ID followed by @studentmail.lsus.edu.
- If you are having
difficulty accessing your student email account, call 797-5171,
or send an email to postmaster@studentmail.lsus.edu
