Archives and Special Collections Main Page
The LSUS Archives
and Special Collections contains nearly 600 individual collections, including numerous important
historical records and manuscripts relating to the Shreveport area, northwest Louisiana, and the
lower Red River region commonly known as the Ark-La-Tex. The Archives collects, preserves, and
makes available to researchers the rich and colorful heritage of this region. Approximately 5,000
linear feet of records and manuscripts and over 200,000 photographs and negatives document the
history and culture of the region from its earliest settlement to the present.
