Microforms and Media
The Microforms and Media Office is located on the second floor of the library. Microforms and Media houses nearly 2,000 audio-visual items and 400,000 microforms in its collection.
Microfilm and microfiche can be viewed within the department, but cannot be checked out.
Audiovisual materials may be used within the department. Equipment for viewing or listening to audiovisual materials is available. Audiovisual materials may be checked out to LSUS faculty only. The loan period for audiovisiual materials is 14 days.
Microforms and Media houses the library's current newspaper subscriptions, including the Times (Shreveport), the Advocate (Baton Rouge), the Times-Picayune (New Orleans), the Wall Street Journal, and the Chronicle of Higher Education.
Back issues of selected newspapers are available on microfilm. Microfilm readers and printers are available.
An instructional classroom is available, where librarians give "How to use the library" tutorials at the request of faculty.
The classroom may be reserved by faculty who wish to show a video to a large group.
Two rooms in Microforms house equipment for viewing or listening to audiovisual materials. One room is available for use by groups of up to six people.

Patrons may sign in to use computers, microfilm readers, or other equipment until 30 minutes before closing.
Patrons who have signed in more than 15 minutes before closing may continue working until closing.
