Rich Arnold earned his Bachelor’s Degree in 1994 (Summa Cum Laude) and his Masters of Education in 1997 from Louisiana Tech University, while serving as an instructor at the Shreveport Police Academy. Mr. Arnold went on to graduate from the distinguished FBI National Academy in 2000, earned 18 additional graduate hours in Criminal Justice from the University of Virginia, Grambling, and LSUS. During his professional career in law enforcement Mr. Arnold served with four law enforcement agencies before retiring from Shreveport Police in 2003. Mr. Arnold’s military service spans 38 years from the Army Security Agency in Viet Nam, to the Louisiana Army National Guard, and since 1988 the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve. Mr. Arnold was commissioned as a Chief Warrant Officer (CWO3) in 2002 after 18 years enlisted service as Pollution Investigator, Port Security Specialist, and Marine Casualty Investigator. CWO3 Arnold is currently assigned Marine Safety Unit Baton Rouge for his USCG reserve duties.
Mr. Arnold began teaching for LSUS as an Adjunct Professor in 1998 and assumed a full time position in August of 2003, teaching an array of Criminal Justice courses. He sponsors the Association of Criminal Justice Students, serves on college and academic committees throughout the state, and is qualified as an expert witness in both U.S. and District courts regarding law enforcement procedures and use of force.
