Cheryl White earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Louisiana State University in Shreveport in 1981. In 1997, she earned her Master of Arts degree in History from Louisiana Tech University and in 2003 she earned her Ph.D. in Church History and History of Dogmatic Theology from North West University, in conjunction with Greenwich School of Theology, in the United Kingdom. In 1998, Dr. White began teaching at LSU Shreveport as an adjunct in the Department of History and Social Sciences. In 2004, she became the Development Coordinator and Social Scientist in Residence for the Institute for Human Services and Public Policy. Dr. White currently teaches Development of Philanthropy for the university’s master’s degree program in Human Services, as well as History of Western Civilization, Christian Church history, British history, and Renaissance and Reformation.
Dr. White’s research interests include Reformation and Christian Church history, as well as the political and diplomatic history of England. In her duties with the Institute for Human Services and Public Policy, she also conducts extensive public policy research. Her work has appeared in a variety of peer-reviewed and non-peer reviewed publications and she has presented papers at national and international conferences, including Sixteenth Century Studies Conference and the International Association for Social Science Research.
