Prof. Sadow teaches in the areas of international relations, comparative politics, state and local politics, public administration, political institutions, political behavior, and nonprofit administration. He also serves as prelaw adviser and Model United Nations coordinator.
Active in several professional organizations, he currently serves as treasurer of the Louisiana Political Science Association, having been previously vice president and president of the organization. He holds the position of membership director and executive council member of the Conference Group of Politics and Film, affiliated with the American Political Science Association. He also sits as an ex-oficio member on the executive governing committee of the International Society of Political Psychology and maintains the organization’s web site.
He has published in the areas of teaching political science, nonprofit administration, Louisiana politics, and political communication. He also has reviewed several books ranging from political philosophy to South Pacific politics.
Having a background in journalism, Sadow also has authored hundreds of opinion columns for a variety of university and local newspapers. Currently, he writes for both a regional political newsletter and the PoliticsLa.com website. For many years he served as a co-host on a daily radio talk show on two different stations and also hosted a daily program of his own. Additionally, he frequently finds himself asked to comment on political news, solicited by local, statewide, national, and international media.
Dr. Sadow earned his bachelor of arts in public administration and political science from the University of Oklahoma, his masters in business administration from Vanderbilt University, and his doctorate of philosophy in political science from the University of New Orleans. He is married to the former Deshae Lott, whose Ph.D. is in English and who specializes in spirituality in American literature.
