Dr. Lynn Walford earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and her Master of Liberal Arts degree from Louisiana State University in Shreveport. She holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where her primary concentration was in Spanish and Latin American literature. She teaches all levels of undergraduate Spanish courses, and teaches graduate courses in the Master of Liberal Arts program. She also serves as coordinator of the Foreign Language Audio and Multimedia Laboratories, and as co-advisor of the LSUS International Club.

Dr. Walford’s research interests include twentieth-century Latin American fiction, particularly the work of Peruvian novelist Mario Vargas Llosa. She is currently studying the theme of utopia in Latin American literature, and is also interested in the current controversies surrounding the blurring of fact and fiction in testimonial literature.
