Fine Arts
The student majoring in Fine Arts must complete a minimum of 60 hours of art that includes 33 hours of core requirements and 27 hours of elective work at the 300 level or above. The curriculum includes a selection of courses that leads to a better understanding of the role of art in human history; a basic knowledge of visual principles, media, and techniques utilized in studio practices; and ample electives in art to enable the student, with faculty guidance, to select a studio area for advanced creative work. The degree offered is a BA degree in Fine Arts.

Foreign Languages
The student majoring in Foreign Languages may elect either the field of French or Spanish. In either field, a minimum of 33 semester hours in the language is required, 27 of which must be beyond the freshman level and 21 of which must be at the level of 300 or above. For electives, the student is encouraged to choose English 215 or 216. Nine hours of study in a second foreign language are required.
