The Department of Fine Arts, Foreign Language and Humanities at LSUS offers an exciting variety of courses in Spanish and French. Our classes cover grammar, conversation, composition, translation, culture, customs, civilization, film, and literature. In today's global marketplace, proficiency in a foreign language will give you the competitive edge that can help you land that desirable job!

THE MAJOR-
LSUS currently offers majors in Spanish and French, as well as French
Education. Requirements for the major include 33 hours in the target
language, 21 of which must be at the 300-level or above. Choose from
courses such as Business Spanish or French, Medical Spanish, French
Drama, French Poetry, Cervantes and the Golden Age, Culture and
Civilization, or Film and Narrative. Nine hours of a second foreign language
are also required.

THE MINOR-
LSUS also offers a minor in Spanish and French which can be taken in
conjunction with a number of majors such as English, History, Marketing, or Communications. The minor requires 21 hours in one foreign language and can include the required courses 101, 102, and 201.
