Academic Excellence Program
Academic Excellence is an early-entry LSUS program that allows qualified students to earn college credits while still attending high school

American Humanics Certificate Program
This alliance of universities and nonprofit organizations is perfect for students interested in careers in youth and human services. This program is designed to compliment any undergraduate or graduate student’s course curriculum. With an American Humanics Certificate students will be trained for professional careers such as fundraising management, human resource management, nonprofit administration, program evaluation, public relations, and marking.

Washington Semester
LSUS American Studies offered the first independent Washington semester at a public college/university in the South, and today it is the least expensive one in the nation. Open to all, regardless of home campus or academic major, this intensive 3-4 week interim mini-semester blends internships and cultural components. Six credit hours in humanities and the social sciences are available to undergraduate students satisfactorily completing the Washington Semester. Graduate credit is also an option. The program has been recognized in publications of the American Political Science Association and was the subject of the first journal article published on Washington Semesters.

Women's Studies Program
The Women's Studies program offers courses and lecture series which encourage female students to explore their roles in their local community as well as in the global community to which we all belong. Its focus acknowledges the achievements of a diverse human culture and explores its capacity for growth and change. The program is housed for administrative purposes within the Department of Fine Arts, Foreign Languages and Humanities within the College of Liberal Arts; its faculty, however, are drawn from many departments across campus.
