English
We share a broad philosophy with the other departments in the College of Liberal
Arts: to enable students to interpret, evaluate, and alter their world. The
Department of English is committed to fostering critical analysis and interpretation
in matters relating to the human condition. Specifically, we help students
develop the characteristics of reading perceptively, thinking critically, and
writing effectively.
