The University excels in providing computer labs and access to our students. 100% of LSUS classrooms have Internet connectivity. The campus wide lab provides over 70 computers for student Internet access and many applications. Computer stations located in the Noel Memorial Library provide Internet access and well as word processing capability. In addition, each of the four academic colleges provide computer labs to assist students in completing assignments, conducting research and supplementing lecture notes and text material.
MOODLE
Beginning Summer 2006, LSUS began the process of demoing, testing, and moving to the Moodle learning management system. It offers all of the same features as Blackboard to allow students and teachers to communicate outside of the classroom and to exchange information.
Labs
The Campus Wide Lab, located in the Technology Center, Room # 224, helps all students with computing needs through a variety of software programs and Internet connections. This lab is open weekdays and nights and limited hours on the weekend in a regular semester during hours posted on the door. In addition to this lab, each of the four academic colleges provide computer labs to assist students in completing assignments, conducting research and supplementing lecture notes and text material.

Tech Fee
In an effort to upgrade and increase the availability of technology on the LSUS campus, the Student Government Association, on behalf of the Student Body of LSUS, voted to approve the assessment of a student technology fee. As determined by House Bill 2339 of the Louisiana Legislature, proceeds from the fee shall be placed in a restricted account and expenditures from this account will be accounted for separately to the management board of the university. The proceeds are to be expended in accordance with the annual written plan agreed upon by the Technology Fee Committee upon signature of Chancellor.
