LSUS Faculty Senate

Home

Welcome to your LSUS Faculty Senate website. This site has been created so that every faculty member can learn the purpose of the Faculty Senate, identify the Senators from each college, and discover what Senate committees exist and who serves on each committee. You will also find meeting agendas, minutes of prior meetings, and other relevant documents. The site will provide updates on issues and events affecting the faculty at LSUS and let you discover how you can get involved. We want this site to serve as a clearing house of information about the Faculty Senate.

The LSUS Faculty Senate represents the interests of the entire LSUS Faculty Council, especially in matters involving the establishment of curricula, the fixing of standards of instruction, and generally the formulation of the educational policy of LSUS in matters affecting more than a single division or department. The Senate serves in an advisory and consultative role with the University Administration to promote understanding, cooperation, and communication within the LSUS campus community.

The Faculty Senate includes representatives from each college on campus. Senators are elected by the faculty in their respective colleges.

Senate meetings are held on a rotational basis every month during the Fall and Spring semesters and are open to the public. We encourage your attendance and interest.

Thank you for visiting your Faculty Senate website.

Your Faculty Senate President,
Gary D. Joiner
