Applications & Forms

Although Educational Testing Service (ETS) had announced plans to change the format of the Graduate Record Exam General Test (Verbal and Quantitative sections) during the summer of 2007, they have just announced that those plans have been cancelled and the exam will remain in the current format for the foreseeable future. Because the change has been rescinded, the current form of the GRE will continue to be administered as it is at present. If you want more information, visit www.GRE.org

Beginning with the Fall Semester of 2007, the MSCP program has moved to a new admissions process where all program application materials must be received by the program before being considered for admissions to the program. In the past students have been able to start taking classes as a “Pre-Candidate”, but before you took 12 hours, students needed to have all of your admissions requirements fulfilled (GRE scores reported and meeting the minimum program total, have all transcripts submitted to LSUS, have two letters of recommendation, etc. (see elsewhere on this page for the specific requirements). However, beginning with Fall semester admissions, you must have all those admission requirements resolved and a completed application before you are considered for admission into the program. This includes the Graduate Records Examination ( GRE ( V + Q) scores ) referred to above.

Deadlines for all materials to be received and processed at LSUS are November 30th for Spring 2008, April 30th for Summer 2008, and June 30th for Fall 2008.

This means that GRE scores, all academic transcripts, and formal LSUS Graduate Study application must be received by the Office of Graduate Studies, and at least two letters or recommendation, a letter of intent and interest in the MSCP training program, and the MSCP program application must be received by the Psychology Department. Address materials for the department to Gary E. Jones, Ph.D., Chair and Professor, Department of Psychology, Louisiana State University in Shreveport, 1 University Place, Shreveport, LA 71115 and all material to the Graduate Studies office sent to: Office of Graduate Studies, Louisiana State University in Shreveport, 1 University Place, Shreveport, LA 71115.
