TeachLSUS is the Louisiana State University in Shreveport initiative to recruit, select, and train outstanding educators for our community’s classrooms. TeachLSUS is dedicated to preparing knowledgeable, skilled, and professional teachers.
As a teacher candidate with the TeachLSUS Non-Master’s/ Certification Only program, you can work as a full-time, salaried teacher while earning your Louisiana teaching certificate at your own pace. TeachLSUS prepares candidates who currently hold a baccalaureate degree and a minimum overall 2.5 undergraduate degree (at the time the degree was conferred) for careers as professional educators.
