Welcome
to the College of Education and Human Development Accountability
and Accreditation page. The faculty and staff are grateful
that you are interested in the quality and continuing
development of our programs. We are driven by the awareness
of the impact educators have on the development of student
knowledge, skills, dispositions and achievements. This
awareness is partnered with the accountability and continuing
accreditation of the college. Maintaining the integrity
of all programs remains in the forefront of all we strive
to accomplish.
The CEHD has in place a comprehensive assessment system
which mirrors the Professional Educator Model. The PAR
(Program Assessment and Review) System provides the college
with an integrated set of evaluation measures to be used
in monitoring candidate performance while analyzing and
improving programs. Instructors develop assessments modeled
after standards set by Specialized Professional Associations
(SPA). Utilizing these nationally recognized standards
provides candidates with assurance that the unit is preparing
them for settings beyond the walls of the university.
Technology and collaboration are utilized to enhance the
assessment process and ensure consistency across programs.
A unique addition to the CEHD is PASS-PORT (Professional
Accountability Support System Using a Portal Approach).
Web-based applications provide an opportunity for college
faculty and candidates to feature products of scholarship
that are reflective of proficiency levels. PASS-PORT and
other authentic assessment strategies assist in the production
of effective educational leaders.
Together we strive to enhance the education of youth in
the surrounding areas through collaborative and effective
strategies. Links are provided to the NCATE and SACS sites
in an effort to expand your knowledge of the accreditation
process.
