LSUS COVID-19 On-Campus Testing Pod

The pod will begin operation on Monday, September 28th, and will be open Mondays and Tuesdays from 8 am to 4 pm. Testing will be available to students, faculty and staff of LSUS with no out-of-pocket expense. Testing in the Pod will not be available to the general public. The pod will be located in front of the temporary building on the southside of the campus behind the Technology Center, near the base of the “tower.”

To get tested, LSUS students, faculty and staff need to perform the following steps:

  1. Download Relief Telemed app from Apple or Google Play store (scan QR code below to go to the store)

  2. Register for an account using your email address
  3. A unique access code will be emailed to your LSUS email address
  4. Enter the unique access code within the app when requested
  5. Follow prompts and screens to register a visit with a telemedicine provider. You will be asked to provide your health insurance information. The app will reduce any deductibles or copays to zero. If you do not have health insurance you will indicate that when prompted, and you will still be allowed to schedule your test at no cost to you.
  6. Conduct virtual visit with provider (via video chat)
  7. Select a time slot to be tested at the pod
  8. Arrive at the pod for testing at designated time and get tested. This will be a saliva test and will take approximately 3-5 minutes.
  9. Your results will be sent to you through a secure portal within 36 to 48 hours after being tested.

There are no eligibility requirements for testing other than being a current LSUS student, faculty or staff member with an active LSUS email address. We encourage those experiencing symptoms or who may be concerned about an exposure to please take advantage of this opportunity.

LSU Health Shreveport Testing at LSUS

Every Friday through the end of the year, LSU Health Shreveport will have a Covid-19 Mobile testing available on the LSU Shreveport campus at the Pioneer Heritage Center.

This drive-thru testing is free and open to members of the public with a valid ID, and Test results come back via email within 42-78 hours.

Louisiana Department of Health Testing Site Information

The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) recommends Covid-19 testing for individuals who are experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath. You are encouraged to discuss these symptoms with your primary care physician for guidance on whether and when to get tested.
