Report a Case

How to Report a Case

Contact the following as soon as possible if you have been in direct contact (within 6 feet of an infected person for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period starting from 2 days before illness onset) with someone who has COVID-19, have symptoms of COVID-19, or have tested positive for COVID-19:

  • If you have symptoms and want to get tested consult your general healthcare provider or utilize the LSUS Testing Pods through the Relief Telemed App (for active faculty, staff, and students) on Monday/Tuesday from 8:00am - 4:00pm. You may also utilize the LSUHSC testing site on Fridays from 8:00am - 12:00pm, or call the Louisiana Department of Health at (318)-676-7470.   • For students, call Paula Atkins at 318-795-2407 or email her at Paula.Atkins@lsus.edu.
  • For employees, notify your direct supervisor and Bill Wolfe in Human Resources at 318-797-5169 or Bill.Wolfe@lsus.edu. Supervisors must maintain strict confidentiality.

Guiding principles

  • Efficiently identify a campus positive or direct contact of a positive in order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 across the LSUS campus community.
  • Follow direction and guidance from LDH and/or local health officials on contact tracing and best practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality of impacted employee/student throughout the process.

If you have been in direct contact with someone who has COVID-19, have symptoms of COVID-19, or have tested positive for COVID-19, do not come to campus. If you reside on campus, self-isolate in your residence.
