The physics program is guided by five physicists offering
areas of specialization in general physics, mechanics, electricity and
magnetism, special relativity, quantum mechanics, mathematical physics,
theoretical physics, and electronics. Most of the curricula in the College
of Sciences require physics courses. This means that about 1,100 students
in the college take two to four courses in physics. In addition, the physics
program offers courses in electronics and physics in support of the computer
science program. Also a secondary education science-physics degree is offered
through the College of Education.
