Foreign Languages

The student majoring in Foreign Languages may elect either the field of French or Spanish. In either field, a minimum of 33 semester hours in the language is required, 27 of which must be beyond the freshman level and 12 of which must be at the level of 300 or above. For electives the student is encouraged to choose English 215 or 216. Nine hours of study in a second foreign language are required.

Foreign Languages Minor: The student choosing to minor in languages offered at LSUS must earn 21 hours consisting of 9 hours of 101, 102, and 201, 3 hours of Foreign Language electives and 9 hours of Foreign Language electives 300+.
